Cochin Teapots Handcrafted in China
Exotic Cochin Ceramic has been used to decorate temples in Taiwan for more than a hundred years, the art having originated in Southern China. The famed cochin china teapot.
Cochin earthenware pieces are renowned for their low heat multi-firing process and intricate soothing glazed colours. The skillful sculpting and painting are based on the use of animals, flowers and human figures to illustrate some auspicious symbols, and legends. It was believed these symbols had the power to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck to its owner.
Today, these highly-valued Cochin ceramics represent Taiwan's finest heritage and is a frequent State gift to national guests. The ceramics are hand-crafted exclusively in Taiwan by one of the country's most prominent artists, the Lin family, and each precious piece bears the family seal.
